When it comes to finding Senior Living, it's important to speak with someone who's already walked the path.

My journey for senior living started in 2020 when I unexpectedly lost my mom, and became the caregiver for my autistic sister and my father who was struggling with dementia, far worse than I had realized. Mom had been hiding many aspects of his deteriorating health and now that I was in charge, I had to find solutions quick.

We immediately found some in-home healthcare to come in and help handle the physical care while I tried to figure out what to do.

Have you had the experience of googling senior living and being overwhelmed with the results yet??

I have. A bunch of different communities came up but which ones were good, which ones had those orderlies you always hear about who mistreat the seniors and steal their valuables? Which ones were in our price range and which ones were worth the money they charged? And what's a fair price to pay for these communities in Orlando anyway?

After about a week and a half of trying to find either a community for dad to move to or a contractor who could build an in-law suite for him in the backyard, my dad took his own life one night while I ws sleeping. Had I found a company who had a run down on all these communities and prices and could just advise me the same way a real estate agent would advise a home buyer on which places had what and which ones were worth what they charged, there would be a chance he would still be with us today.

Out of this tragic loss came passion and Orlando Senior Transitions was born. it took a couple years to get all the training I needed and to learn the different communities in town but we did it and we are here now to hold your hand through the process of finding senior care.

Chances are if you are reading this, you didn't spend much of your childhood researching where you were going to put mom or dad when they could no longer care for themselves and now that that time has come, the last thing you have time for is to become an expert on senior living.

The good news is you don't have to though. On any given month, I've spent time in at least 10 different communities and I have my favorites. If your parent needs memory care or dementia type help, I have a place I absolutely love but another place for respite care if your parents don't need that but need a place to stay for a shorter period of time while they recover from a fall. Senior care and senior communities are not a one size fits all for any person and a personalized approach must be used.
